Whats that coming over the hill?

Good afternoon everyone! Its been a while since we last met, hope you all are doing fine. Hope to see you all with at least 1 hand attached next week.

Anyways I just wanted to post some info up to get us ready for the coming semester.

First of all timetable! You all can grab it from the TOA student portal. If not, you can download it from here >> https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Ahlbcb4LsVLrdHltby1wNF82YXk2VUFNQTdjZmhkNlE&hl=en&authkey=CO7Y5Y0E#gid= <<

or alternatively you can view it here (technology so advanced nowadays)

Secondly, is the issue of the airbrush. Vision Art is selling the whole set (which consists of air compressor+handpiece+10 bottles of ink, all different colour of course) for RM1000 brand new. You have to place an order and it takes 3 days for it come. The air compressor(only, the other 2 items does not) comes with 1 year warranty.

I am not sure about second hand airbrush from seniors as I have not inquired. If any of you have information regarding seniors selling their airbrushes please let me know so I can post the info on here for everyone to see.

For those who are thinking to share, my advice(not based on experience) is that you all can share to buy the compressor but as for the handpiece and ink you all should get your own. This is because the handpiece is a wear and tear item therefore its more sensitive and from what i hear from the Vision Art aunty, she said a lot of seniors argue and fight because one person broke the handpiece and nobody is willing to fork out the money to buy it. So to avoid all these, I think you are better off only sharing the compressor only.

However please note that I'm not sure if you Vision Art allows you to purchase the items separately. If they indeed do not allow, then I suggest (for example 2 ppl sharing) that both of you order 1 set from Vision Art but both of you only share the cost of the compressor. I know a place where you can buy the handpiece separately so the other person can get it there. (But Soh Ling recommended we buy a certain brand of handpiece, so that complicates things a bit, however thats not the end of the world).

The information about the airbrush is just as much as I have gathered so far and it is not exhaustive, so if you have any questions pleease feel free to ask Aunty Winnie @ Vision Art.

For 1st of mixed media illustration lesson bring

- two compressors and two handpieces (for kinsun to demo)

- portrait refs from mag x3

- layout pad (for thumb)
- color pencils (for thumb)

Thats all for now. Hope this helps. See you all next week Monday 10am @ K2!
